I grew up baking with my mom, basically all the time. It was just a way of life to bake (as well as cook) all day everyday because of my large family. I didn’t realize until I moved out at 18, just how much I loved doing it and missed it every day! At 21 years old, I decided to learn the decoration side of baking as my mom already taught me the taste side. I started making desserts for every family occasion with the hope of one day having a bakery.
One day in December of 2019, my husband’s coworker asked if I could make her a cake. I was very excited but still insecure in my skills. I took the order and asked that she just pay for the ingredients; she did. The next day, she texted me raving about the look and taste. She ended up paying me almost double what the cake would have costed had I charged her full price!
That was the day I decided to sell to the public and not just my family. It has been a crazy journey with a lot of smiles and tears but my husband and family are my biggest support and always encouraged me when I didn’t want to invest in myself. They helped me get where I am today and I can’t thank them enough.
